Artwork at Forbush

We are very lucky, here at Forbush, to have a wonderful collection of artwork and artifacts. Many paintings are displayed all throughout the library for you to view and many artifacts are displayed in cases on the third floor and in the Eloranta Room. If you are interested in finding out more about them, pick up the brochure “Guide to the Art Collection of Forbush Memorial Library” that we have at the front desk.

Portrait of George Wood, c. 1835, by Robert Peckham

Mr. Wood’s (1811-1896) portrait was painted when he was 24 years old and is located across from the main floor checkout desk. He was a descendant of 18th-century Westminster settlers. He spent much of his adult life in Alabama and New Orleans teaching and operating a number of businesses.
