Our play area includes puzzles, coloring pages, and imaginative play centers.

There’s so much for children to do at Forbush Memorial Library. We have summer reading programs to encourage good reading habits and a steady flow of new books from which to choose.

In addition, we have CD’s, an extensive audio-book collection, magazines, and parenting books. Our library staff is always willing to help you find the materials you would like to borrow for your child.

Storytimes are another great way to for your children to discover books and authors they enjoy. Detailed information about our current storytimes is outlined below in the Storytimes section. 

Our Early Spring Storytime series will begin on Wednesday, March 1st and Thursday, March 2nd.


Storytimes are a great way to help your child get excited about books and reading. Some storytimes include a craft or a snack. Crafts are generally designed for children age 3 and older.  Color pages may be provided for younger children. It is up to the parent/caregiver to determine the appropriateness of the craft.

Our current storytime schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, March 8th & 22nd:  6:30 P.M.  P.J. Storytime All ages are welcome and no registration is required.  Please join us for stories, a light snack, and a craft.

Thursdays, Baby and Toddler Program, 10:15 AM.  This 30 minute program includes songs, stories, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement. Siblings are welcome and no registration is required.

Fridays: 10 a.m. Circle Fun Time With Jana for children aged 0-5.Please join Jana for songs, stories, and activities. No registration is required.

On Wednesdays we will be having a storytime at 10 AM and at 11 AM. These storytimes are for children 2 – 5. A snack and craft will be included. Coloring pages will be available for children under age 3.

On Thursdays we have a storytime at 11 AM. This storytime is for children up to age 6. A craft will be included. Color pages will be available for children under age 3. No snack is served at this storytime.

No registration is required for our storytimes.

We currently have a computer that can be used to access our online catalog or for internet access for children in the 5th grade or under. A parent or guardian must supervise the children and sign a permission form. Please read the Internet Access Policy here


Discovering the night sky and planets with a child can be an extremely exciting and educational experience!  The Children’s Room has many books and guides to assist you in your exploration.  Your child’s imagination might also be sparked to explore storybooks featuring out-of-this-world characters!

The library’s high-powered telescope is now available for loan to any interested Westminster resident. Reservations for a week’s borrowing can be made at the main circulation desk or by calling 978-874-7416 during library hours.
