About the Children’s Library!
There’s so much for children to do at Forbush Memorial Library. We have summer and winter reading programs to encourage good reading habits and lots of new books to choose from. There’s also a play area your children can use.
Our librarians are always willing to help you find good books for your child. Our fastest growing collection is our Easy Reader non-fiction section. You can also check the events calendar at the bottom of this page for storyhour times, which are very popular. Along with great books, we have CD’s, videos, literature based activity kits and parenting books as well.
Kids Read Website
Find book reviews, books for boys, find out about popular series and much more at Kidsreads!
School Reading Lists
Teachers often give out reading lists for different grade levels for summer reading or suggestions during the school year. We have a great selection of books for many reading levels and we can order specific books through the interlibrary loan system if we don’t have what you are looking for. Check the catalog here.
Children’s Room Computer
There is a new internet computer in the Children’s Room for children in the 5th grade or under. A parent or guardian must supervise the children and sign a permission form. Please read the Internet Access Policy here

Mother/Daughter Book Club
The Mother/Daughter Book Club is for girls in grade three to five. Each girl has a turn to choose the book of the month and everyone gets a chance to talk about it. The next meeting will be in October 2011 only if there is enough interest.
Story Hours
Story Hours will begin again in October 2011. Check back closer to that time.
Story Time is a great way to help your child get excited about books and reading. We have a number of story times available for children from babies to grade school. There are also Afterschool Stories and Crafts for K-2. Summer Reading Programs are always popular and an excellent way to help your child continue their reading skills during the school break.
