How to Find Books Through the Popular Book Lists!
There are lots of places to find the latest books, your favorite books or something completely new. You can find reviews, communities of book lovers or just some book entertainment. Check out some of these websites!
Fantastic Fiction (UK)
You can search for over 350,000 books on www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/. You can find the newest book releases, the most popular book, the top authors and books that are coming soon. A great feature of this site is the ability to look up books in a series, telling you the name of book number 4 or how many in the series.
Amazon’s Best Books in 2010
Amazon’s Editors pick the top 100 books that were published in 2010. It’s a great list. Find something you are interested in and type it into the catalog to see if we or another Central MA library has it.
New York Times Bestseller Lists
Find lists of the bestselling books around at the New York Times. The “Books” link gives you the “Sunday Book Review” with the latest on popular books, their famous “Best Sellers” lists and “First Chapters” where you can read the complete first chapter of one of the latest books.
Amazon
There are many places to find books that may interest you. One of the popular places is Amazon.com (scroll down and look around!). There are lists for:

- Best Books of the Year
- The New York Times Bestsellers Lists
Oprah
Another is Oprah’s Book Club with lot’s of information for all ages.
Nancy Pearl
You can explore Nancy Pearl’s Book Lust website for her interesting way of introducing books. Make sure to check out Nancy’s personal website, and find her very own “action” figure!
Library Thing
Find a community of over 600,000 book lovers at Library Thing! You can find people who read things you love to read, connect with family and friends who love to read, find the latest in new books, and catalog your own books. If you LOVE books, this is the place to be.
Teen Reads
Check out the Teen Reads website for the latest in young adult books and information. Be sure to check out “Cool & New”, “Reviews” and “The Ultimate Reading List”.
When you find items that interest you, check in with our online catalog to see if Forbush or area libraries have what you are looking for. If they are the newest books, there may not be any in area libraries but check back often because we get new book in all the time.
Book Trailers – Check Them Out!
We are used to seeing movie trailers in theaters or in advertisements but many book publishers are investing in book trailers. Youtube has some pretty interesting ones and it’s a different and fun way of getting an idea if a book is for you.
