New for 2024: Read To Bead and Rubber Ducky Club!

Read To Bead (ages 3+)

This summer, start off Summer Reading by picking up a chain at any library desk. Earn beads and tags to decorate your necklace by reading and attending library programs. Take a look at the Prize Guide for full details about how to earn the different beads. Show off your completed necklace to friends and neighbors at our block party in August!

Rubber Ducky Club (ages 0-3)

Our littlest “readers” are invited to join the Rubber Ducky Club! Read, sing, and play with your little one to earn rubber duckies and a free book! Take a look at the Prize Guide for full details about earning duckies.

Check out our Events Calendar for full details and to register for events.

All summer in the Children's Room: Let’s write to another Westminster!

Come make a postcard, drop it in our postbox, and we’ll mail them out to other Westminsters around the country.

In case you need another reason to participate...

Summer Reading has all kinds of great benefits. Kids are incentivized to read for fun, explore new genres, and keep up their literacy skills even while school is out. For babies and pre-readers, it is essential that caregivers start reading aloud early and often to establish a strong foundation for their child's future literacy. Check out the American Library Association's page on Summer Reading Benefits for more information.
